Using your phone for Express Pass

How does it work when entering a queue that requires you to put ALL items into a locker? Can you get yourself a physical card rather than having to contantly take out your phone and run the risk of burning up the battery?

You can use your physical ticket to open the lockers. (Your ticket can be brought onto all rides)
If you don't have a physical ticket, the attendant can give you a locker ticket.

your hotel key is your express pass, and unversal does not have the capability to have this or a physical ticket to your phone. phones go in the locker on numerous rides (VC, Hulk, mummy, etc)

I am staying offsite and I purchased both my park ticket and express pass via the website. I received a PDF with a QR code that says 'PRESENT THIS MOBILE OR PRINTED TICKET AT ATTRACTION ENTRANCE"

I don't want to print off a sheet of paper that's just gonna get ruined with one rip down Ripsaw Falls or the hours of 'swass' building up over time.

Can I go to a booth or whatever to get an actual hard pass?

You will need a printout or official EP card (room key card if you're getting EP by staying at a Premier resort) in order to use the EP on the metal detector rides. You need your EP while you are in line, and you can't have your phone in line.
(Maybe not velocicoaster, based on where the lockers are within the queue).
