Using your AA card for AAA discount?

I have read in a few places that you can use an AA card to get AAA discount at Disney. For example we can use the card to get a discount on some tours and some character meals. So do you just as for the discount when you book the tour and then just show your AA card or just show the card when you pay for your meal to get a discount? Do the CM's recognise the AA card will give you a AAA discount?
So has anyone done this successfully?

Depending on what you go for and what discount, it may be worth joining the AA and then cancelling when you return!

I have got discounts at some retruants, but nt Disney resturants. Over at Univerial you can get 10%, and if you book direct with the US hotels, disney and Univeral and some other you can get between 10% and 20% off.

Thanks for the info. Next trip we are visiting Disneyland and I know you can get AAA discounts on character meals there and the segway tour which we plan on doing.

I used my AA card for an AAA discount at the Universal Royal Pacific Resort. They just asked to see my card when I checked in - no problems.

I've also used it to get a discount for Sea World tickets on the gate.
