Using WDW tickets at DL

I am going to WDW at the end of October. We found a cheap flight sale and had some credit leftover, so we have decided to fly to DL after we visit WDW for a couple days, which is really exciting because we've never visited DL.

Anyway, I know you can use WDW tickets at DL. However, the discussions I found kept referring to non-expiry tickets. Since we will be using all of our tickets within 14 days, will it be okay that they're NOT non-expiry? I assume this okay, but just wanted to check. Thanks!

In this thread, someone asks if you can use the unused days of a used WDW ticket before the ticket expires. The answer seems to be yes.

I have a related question - instead of a used WDW ticket with unused days on it (ie a 5-day ticket with 2 days unused), what if the WDW ticket is a 1-day only ticket that hasn't been used at all (so it hasn't expired, but it was never "used" in the first place)? Does anyone know if we could still exchange it for 1 day at a DL park?

Just another thought I had.. we will be staying at a WDW resort and will have a KTTW card for our tickets. Do we just take this to the gate at DL, or do we have to get actual paper tickets somewhere?

I'm sure your KTTW cards will be fine - it sounds like a manager will take the card, confirm that the ticket on it is still valid, and then subtract a day while giving you a DL ticket. I don't know for sure, as I've never done any of this (but I'm trying to read up on DL).
