Several people have mentioned working with Ken Price in order to get a place at Bonnet Creek Resort. I see on his website that it costs $100/night if you book within 60 days of your trip. For those of you who have worked with him, have you ever waited until within 60 days? Are there usually resorts available? I am talking about going the 2nd week in January, which I know might still have some of the Christmas crowd but I'm hoping most kids will have to be back in school by then. Anyway, just wondering what you guys have experienced.

Since Bonnet Creek isn't a Disney resort, I'm going to move this to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board....you'll be much more likely to find someone who's stayed at Bonnet Creek over there. :thumbsup2

I am using Ken Price for my trip Dec. 12th. I, too, wanted to wait to the 60 day mark to book to save the extra money. However, he was wonderful and right in his contract states that if you book at a higher price and there is still a rental available for your dates he will change your reservation and reflect the new price. He said he makes every effort possible to get a new room exactly on the 60 day mark. Apparently, he makes more money by charging you the lower price. It must have a higher mark up compared to the earlier bookings. I completely followed what he said and trust that he will in fact look for a cheaper rental. I trust him completely. He's been wonderful!! Call him and talk with him about this. Good luck!

As mentioned, his preferred method is to book you early to lock in your dates, and re-book you with his VIP discount at 60 days. If he can get inventory that close to check-in, it costs him (or any owner with that VIP level) significantly less points, and he passes some of the savings on to you.

For peak summer and holiday weeks, it's unlikely. There are a few other quirks to the calendar which would make certain times hard. But, mid-January probably isn't one of those times---I think your chances of rebooking at a lower rate then are good.

Hi,
I also used Ken for my rental in Feb from the 5th to the 13th. We had a reservation at The Fountains resort, at $120/night. We kept that ressie. When we talked to Ken, he said not to cancel it, as long as I wouldn't pay a penalty to cancel it. On the 60 day mark, he called me and told me what he could get for me. I was only looking for a 2 bdrm, but he offered me a 3 bdrm for the same price. Then I cancelled my other ressie.
Ken has been wonderful to work with and I have no complaints whatsever. He was the best. I just talked to him last week about March, and he was heading to Florida himself to stay at Star Island. We are leaning towards Star Island for March, because we are not doing Disney on our next vacation. Good luck, and you won't be disappointed with Ken. I would also say, your luck should be with you in January.

We are using Ken for our upcoming November trip at BC. He is a lovely gentleman and I have been so pleased with our choice. Our four night stay at Bonnet Creek in a 2 bedroom has a total cost of $550 compared to our convention rate of $897 for four nights in a standard room at the Boardwalk!

Needless to say, $347 will more than cover a car rental and parking :woohoo:.

Have fun!

You will enjoy bonnet Creek. It has a very nice clubhouse that was built about a year ago. In addition to the zero entry pool and lazy river behind the clubhouse, there are 2 pool tables, a ping pong table, chess and checkers tables, an indoor widescreen for movies when it is raining and apparently an outdoor as well (I am not sure because of the daily evening rain). They also have 4 computers, two with printers, you can use, lots of board games.

The activities provided by the clubhouse were lifesavers with the inclement weather.

I liked being able to park close to the unit (we were in the last building next to the parking lot). We had a great view of the lake and the smaller pool with slide that was between building 2 and 3.

It was not a bad walk to the clubhouse, there is a nice walking path around the lake to all of the buildings. There are several really nice grills that people used Memorial Day weekend between building 2 and 3.

The best part is the location, it is the best possible offsite location. It was a breeze getting to Epcot and Hollywood studios, as well as getting to the Boardwalk for our villa stay there.

The staff was very nice and we were not asked to do a timeshare tour which we would not have done anyway.

I am definitely going to stay at BC again, hopefully later this year during the "dry season". We also booked with Ken Price. I was very impressed with how smoothly the transaction worked. He has a rental agreement that you sign.

Could not beat the price, and I felt more comfortable booking through him over doing an ebay transaction.
