Using Universal’s dynamic pricing to figure out when to go?

Hi everyone!

I've been visiting the parks for a long time and am seeking advice on the best time to visit both IoA and Universal Studios.

Our potential dates are July 14-17. We’re planning to get Express Passes, so we are prepared to face how busy the parks will be.

I checked some crowd calendars and databases (Undercover Tourist, ThrillData, Touring Plans), and the crowd levels for these dates don’t show significant differences. However, I noticed the following prices for Express Passes on those dates:

- July 14: $220
- July 15: $240
- July 16: $230
- July 17: $230

Interestingly, $240 is the highest price for July, with only four dates at this price point.

We are only visiting for one day, so if possible, I want to pick one that isn’t obviously and significantly busy. My main concern is that the higher price on July 15 might indicate higher demand (real or expected) for that day.

Is it reasonable to interpret the pricing as an indicator of crowd levels, or is it more unpredictable?

Thanks for your insights!

As a rule, Monday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s are usually the busiest days of the week. Between those dates I would pick whichever is best for your group.

If I were making a blind pick it would be Sunday definitely taking advantage of early entry, or a Wednesday.
