using transferred points

I have a question about using points that are transferred to me. Can I use those point to make up what I'm missing for a reservation? or do I have to book full nights with my original points, full nights with the transferred points?
For example:
I'm looking at going to Aulani in January. the 2-bedroom is 62 points. I can book 5 nights with my main points (banked, borrowed, etc) and have 57 points left. I have 100 transferred points. Can I use the transferred points to supplement from the 57 to 62 points for an extra night? or do I have to use all 62 of the transferred points for a night which then leaves me 57 from main contract and 38 transferred that cannot be combined into a reservation?
How does that work?

The system will use any banked or borrowed points you have first and then you can finish the rest of it with any combination of your own current and transferred points.
