Hi

We are just back and just wanted to mention that everywhere I used my shareholders card, I used it a lot.......:rolleyes1, the cm asked for ID.

I don't have a problem with this but have never noticed them being so strict before, I used my credit card most of the time but one cm wanted additional ID and my hotel easy pass seemed to dothe job.

We were not in salon mickey this trip as we stayed inthe DLH and by the time we had breakfast after emh nobody had any room left for a coffee.

We went in the middle of September (before they had announced all of the changes to the shareholders benefits) and we only had our paper confirmation. My OH was asked for (photo) id nearly every time(80% of the time?), although this seemed to be because he was young (21) and people didn't believe it was his info. As soon as they saw his ID they were very apologetic and pleasant, although we expected to be ID'd everytime regardless. The second time we went into Salon Mickey we didn't have to show ID and the lady even remembered our names.

I think showing ID is such a small inconvinience it's got to be worth it!! xx

I have heard of this on and off - like most things regarding DLRP, I think it depends on the CM. But perhaps with the new guidelines, they have been told to make extra checks - can't see why though :confused3.

I only had my A4 paper copy in June and was never asked for additional ID. Having said that, I only used it in restaurants (used my Dream AP in shops), and I put all our TS meals on our hotel easy pass to pay at the end - so perhaps that is why. They took the easy pass as ID....

It's not the end of the world, but something to point out as you say wmoon, as sometimes people don't have extra ID on them. What gets me is when you use your card in a shop and then have to wait for authorisation (even in the UK DS) which takes ages and there is a huge queue behind, staring at you!

Have to say in June, we struggled at times to do Salon Mickey & the DLH breakfast but did squeeze it in 4 of the 5 days - addicted to those pastries with the nuts & choc :rotfl2:. I think it depends on how cold it is on whether we do it much in November (we also have the issue that there are 6 of us and only 5 allowed in - in the past, I believe sometimes they have been lenient and allowed an extra, but I guess this time, with the new guidelines etc, they probably won't - the 3 adults will have to take it in turns to 'miss out' - not me though, I'm the shareholder :lmao:).

I have been asked for ID several times, it doesn't bother me as I always carry my driving licence with me. I'm glad they are doing extra checks now:thumbsup2

I suppose more checks to minimise abuse could tally with a general ethos of saving the company money post the wdc refinancing. I do wonder how many people actually abused it though! They could just make life easier for themselves by putting a photo on the shareholder card

Re photo on card - That would cost more as the cards are not made up on site like AP's or partner cards so no possibilty or taking a photo by webcam.

Re id -You are always supposed to have photo id on you in France as you can be asked to produce it at any time - this can be by police, transport controllers, in shops when paying with a card without a chip and pin and so on. :)

As I said I didnt mind but this is my 5th trip since being a shareholder and this is the first time I have been asked every time I shopped. Just thought it was interesting in light of the changes.

However, was never asked for it once when paying food bills and these were by far the larger discounts.

Carrie, didn't know that about the photo id, I never had any with me at any point as I left my passport in the safe.

Dlp dreams, I love those chocolate and nut pastries, they had them sometimes in the castle club as well last year!!

When paying for food, did you present the card when ordering or at the end - thought I best check

When asking for the bill. At blue lagoon they brought the bill before we asked for it but it was no problem getting it changed when I showed the cm the card. x

In Annettes they have a sign on the table asking to produce the card when ordering.

We have always been asked for ID when using the card but when I haven't had any on me they weren't ever bothered and still gave me the discount.

Having to wait for a manager when the shop is really busy is the more annoying x

I was there a few days ago and only once did I get asked for ID.

This included 5 nights of meals and about 3-4 other purchases, as well as going into the Shareholders lounge.

I've never been asked for ID when paying meals etc.

Glad to see it's now useable in Rainforest however. :thumbsup2

I was only speculating when I was saying about putting a photo on the shareholders card, but I just logged into the website to update my details and spotted there is the option to upload a picture of yourself that will be printed on the card.

Is this new or has this always been the case?

Has anyone got their photo on their card

It also looks like you can get joint accounts now? They have the option for "Mr and Mrs" "Mr and Mr" and "Mrs and Mrs" which is nice, but not so great if you are not married!

Good to see they are now going to be puting photos onto the cards.

Very interesting ..... especially the bit about joint accounts ..... although maybe you'd need 200 shares for that! :lmao:
