Using the points

So we have decided to by BWV. I am so excited. Now we are just looking for the perfect resale. I want to make sure about something. Please tell me how this works.

We want to take a vacation in Nov 2013 with the whole family. We would need a 2br at BWV. If i buy a contract that does not have any or enough 2012points can I still book my 2013 vacay knowing that they will be in the acct prior to the trip or do you have to have the points in your acct to make the ressie? I hope my question makes sense.

Once you close, all of the points are from your contract are loaded into the computer for all remaining years. The points you use for any particular vacation must be valid for the dates of your stay.

For example, let's say you buy a contract with a February use year and you get one that still has points remaining in the 2012 use year.

For a Nov 2013 vacation, you could use points from 2012 that you banked, points from 2013 and if you still need more, you could borrow some from your 2014 allocation.

You can call to make the reservation at the BWV (your home resort) 11 months prior to your check in date.

Having points that are valid for your stay is what is required - when you call does not matter.

So, for example let's say you find a 200 point contract with a June UY with no 2012 points but all 2013 points. Let's also say that your 2BR in Nov 2013 will require 242 points. You can call to book the stay in Dec of 2012. You would be using all 200 of your 2013 points that are valid for stays from June 2013-May 31, 2014. You would also need to borrow 42 2014 points into your 2013 UY which will make them available to be used for stays from June 2013 to May 31, 2014. Or - if there were some 2012 points you could bank them into your 2013 UY to use for the Nov stay.
