Using the Dining Plan for room service

Has anyone used the Dining Plan for room service yet? I was wondering how it worked? I know it takes 2 table service...but what do you get for the 2 table service credits?

I haven't used it yet (and I suspect very few people have, since it offers a rather poor value per credit) but you'll get the same as you'd get in the restaurant: An appetizer, an entree, a soft drink, and a dessert.

Room service was added during the free dining promotion. Cynical posters suspect this may have been a way to accomodate guests who were unable to get reservations.

Two credits is out of line with what you get. Disney wants the plan to be simple but something like a $10 per order surcharge to pay for some of the cost of delivery would be more reasonable.

As a choice, it's fine to charge what they wish. Surely, folks shouldn't plan on using the Dining Plan principally for room-service. It's not the core aspect of the offering.

While I hope to not be cynical I will admit that it occured to me when I first read of the addition of a room service option that it could be in response to those who claimed they lost value on the DDP due to illness that prevented them from leaving the room. One particular poster on the DVC boards a while back comes to mind.

In a similar vein, Olivia's change in policy about takeout is in my mind an indirect outcome of unreasonable expectations on the part of some guests.
