I got this PIN today  I want to use it on a weekend trip in Sept. so I have a few questions.
1st I really can't swing booking until July (there is no expiration on the PIN) will I have any trouble booking a room at the Poly for Sept in July? It says there is a limited number of rooms but how limited are they talking?
2nd this line worries me from the email ( Minimum length-of-stay requirements may apply for Friday or Saturday arrivals.
We want to check in on Friday and out on Sunday, is this going to be an issue?

Thanks for all your advice you guys are great!

When I got my 20/30/40 PIN back in January, I was 95% sure we were going to make an October trip, but wanted to get our taxes done before I confirmed. BUT, to be sure I could get the discount and not risk all the discounted rooms being gone, I booked a room only ressie. We booked 4 nights (Thurs to a Monday) and a mod and my deposit was around $130. I had peace of mind knowing I had a room ressie.

Well, just last week we got our tax return, I booked our flights and I converted my room ressie to a package AND upgraded to AKL. I also added another room for my parents with no problem. Disney refunded my $130 and recharged me $200 for the deposit on the package. Easy peesy!

So, long story short, go ahead and book a room only ressie, see what they say about the "weekend" thing and then you can change/convert from there.

If it were me, I wouldn't wait to book. They may still have rooms available in July, but they may not have the type of room you want. Are you planning to add tickets? If so your deposit would be the $200 package deposit (vs. one night) so that might help.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! We are doing room only and using our GAD tickets and buying MSSHP tickets. My plan now is to try and swing booking now but I am afraid that could take money from our June trip so I may just let the chips fall where they may. I can be flexible so I should get in that mindset and not be disappointed if I can't get exactly what I want.

I wouldn't wait... I got the same pin and booked a Savanna view studio at AKL yesterday, I decided to change it to a standard Savanna view room today and called twice, but there are no Standard Savanna view rooms available now when there were yesterday.

I say book, then you have up until 45 days prior to arrival to cancel/change, etc.

Yeah I just don't have the money to book it right now I am just trying to make myself feel better hoping I can still get a regular room at the Poly in Sept. if I book it in July. I will just have to keep my fingers crossed :)

Oh and I think Disneys "minimum" is 3 nights so you will have to add a day on either end of your trip.

I would book soon, if the room type isn't avail. I would book something else you might want. The Standard room at WL never became avail for AP, GP or the PIN we orig. booked the room with in NOv for Feb 2010. I checked everyday as well so you never know what rooms/dates and resorts are included until you price them If your room is avail, I would book it! You can always cancel a room only reservation and get your money back if need be.

Hi everyone, long time reader, first time poster here! I was trying to read around and couldn't find much info, so I will ask here...how did you guys find out you had a discount pin? Sorry for hijacking your thread! Looking forward to further conversations with you all!

Welcome to the DIS Board, great group of knowlegeable people here!

As far as the PIN offers, I have always gotten them as an email. I know from reading that some people have offers mailed to their homes like on a post card. Also some people call Disney directly and ask them to look their names up to see if they have a discount. Do you have an online account with Disney? Make sure you read some of the threads on tips that people believe help increase the chances of a PIN offer.

Also to everyone thanks for the advice, our situation changed for the better today so I am able to book now. I called today just to make sure I had everything priced out correctly and found out they could hold the room for 1 week without deposit. So I have the room I want on hold and will be able to make the deposit within a few days. So excited!
