Using Stormalong Bay before check-in?

I know that guests need to show their Key to the World to get into Stormalong Bay, & that check-in isn't until 4:00. Can you get your Key to the World card when you get to the resort, or do you have to wait until your room is ready?

I'm asking because we'll probably get to the BCV around noon, and we'll have about four hours to kill until our room is ready. Considering I might not be up for going to the parks yet (I hate flying...), I was thinking that going to Stormalong Bay would be fun, but I don't know whether we'd be allowed in or not.

Our trip isn't until next June, but planning is so much fun... Thanks for the help!

Absolutely! We planned ahead and packed a day pack (and arrived wearing our suits under our clothes). They will give you a number to call to check when your room is ready and there is a hotel phone located outside the restrooms at SAB. Just a warning.. your room charges could rack up quickly that day at Hurricane Hannas killing the time until the room is ready!

:edit: I'm now seeing that you will be flying. We wore our suits because we drove and were only 3 hrs away that morning. The restrooms near Cape May Cafe would be a good place for you to change. Also, there are locker rentals to stash things at SAB. Happy planning! Natalie

I'll just second that! You get your key card when you check-in -- no matter what time it is (you just don't get that pesky room number until after 4:00pm). And we found (not sure if this is normal practice) that they didn't even check key cards after about 1:00pm. Have a great time!

Oh, I also second that the bathrooms near Cape May Cafe are good changing rooms, as are those near Beaches and Cream.

Thank you both for the help- I was hoping that was the case. As I said I don't fly well, and taking a few hours to relax in SAB sounds like just the thing to "unwind" after a flight. Then, a quick trip up to our room when it's ready, and over to Epcot and our favorite restaurant (The San Angel Inn) for dinner, and then Illuminations... I can't wait!

but what do we do with our valuables? does the front desk have safety security boxes?

We do this all the time. When we use to fly we would bring a backpack with our suits. There are lockers at the pool that we use to store our stuff. Enjoy

We put those in our luggage before giving them to the bell captain. And if you need to access your luggage again before check-in, you can do so at the bell services desk.
