Using Southwest Credits to pay for EBCI

I have $60 in Southwest credits and I want to use them to pay for Early bird check in on our next flights, but it seems the only way I can pay is by credit card. Am I missing something, or are you not allowed to use credits that way?

No...unfortunately, you can't use credits to pay for EBCI.

Same thing happened to me. Apparently it is credit card only for EBCI.
