we always stop at the park bakeries on the way out of the park for our afternoon break...and we'll spend a snack credit each buying our favorite pastries. Back in the room, we put the bakery to-go box in a large ziplock baggie to keep it fresh overnight (bakery boxes are not air-tight so I always pack a few extra large ziplocks) Next morning, we brew coffee in the room & enjoy our fabulous pastries. Alternate plan...go to resort's counter service breakfast in the morning and get a muffin or pastry there (the resort counter service do have fresh pastries during breakfast, but usually gone later in the day.)
Our favorite bakeries/items are:
Magic Kingdom, Main Street Bakery I love the giant ooey-gooey cinnamon roll, DH loves the extra large apple turnovers Note-a lot of the resort breakfasts have similar cinnamon rolls --same recipe, anyway, but the Main Street Bakery version is much larger than the resort version.
Epcot: Boulangerie Patisserie (France bakery) DH likes the apple turnover, I like the pithivier (almond pastry)
Epcot: Kringla Bakeri (Norway bakery) We both like the sweet almond pretzel, I also like the school bread (which is like a bread-donut with cream filling & coconut on top)
Hollywood Studios: Starring Rolls Bakery, any of the large muffins (note: Starring Rolls closes by about 4:00 in the afternoon)
