Am I correct in understanding that the room key is used for pretty much everything? Can you use it to buy snacks at the parks or only souveniers? Can anyone give me a little info on the charging system at Disney?

Thanks for so much good advice! I'm definitely addicted to this site now!

That's right! You have a limit on it depending on the type of resort you're booked at. You can use it to buy anything from the parks, snack, suveiners, drinks.

Yes, it ties back to the credit card you leave at the resort. As the previous poster stated the limit depends on the type of resort you're booked at (value, mod, deluxe).

It makes things much easier. We carry walking around cash, for a quick drink or snack here and there, but you can use the cards anywhere.

Have a great trip!

You dont have to have a CC to use the key. If you want like we did we just put cash on it. Gave the CM at check in our $$ they added it to our card. When we bought something it was deducted from our account. We would pick up a print out at the desk with all of our tranactions and how much we have left. I liked doing it this way.

I have a question. If I put say $500 down and then only spend $300 at the end of my stay do they just give me the $200 remaing back in cash? May seem like a stupid question, but I wouldn't want them to cut me a check that I couldn't do anything with until I got home.
