WE ARE LEAVING IN 1 DAY .
HAVE A LAST MINUTE QUESTION.... CAN YOU USE YOUR ROOM KEY AS A CHARGE CARD? THOUGHT I READ THAT YOU CAN DH ANS I ARE PLANNING ON BEING ABLE TO DO THIS AND THEN PAYING FINAL BILL WHEN WE CHECK OUT.
DO NOT WANT TO HAUL ALOT OF $ AROND PARK.
AND IS THERE LANYARDS (THE THINGS THAT GO AROUND YOUR NECK)AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT THE HOTEL OR PARKS FOR ROOM AND PARK KEYS. WE ARE STAYING @ PORFQ ANY REPLYS APPRECIATED.

Yes, your room key can be used as a charge card as long as you give them a credit card to scan at check-in. We do this all the time and carry very little cash in the parks. We usually plan to carry cash for things like ice cream bars and sodas, otherwise all gift purchases and meals get charged back to our room. I always carry my card in my fanny pack, so don't know for sure about the lanyards. ::MinnieMo

You can also leave cash and/or travelers cheques at the front desk instead of a credit card to be used against your room charge. You can also leave your credit card and then just go to the front desk to pay with cash or travelers cheques a few times during your stay. I think they charge to your card when you reach around $500.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH... WE ARE DOING THIS TRIP FOR THE FIRST TIME AS ADULTS IT'S BEEN 20 YEARS SINCE EITHER OF US HAVE BEEN TO DISNEY AND JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE ALL GOES WELL :earsboy: -- (I THINK IT IS A MOM THING) WE ARE TAKING DD 2.5 Y.O. WITH. MY HUSBAND SAID I AM TURING INTO THE WDW LIL GENERAL :rotfl:
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE HELP

You've gotten great responses for the room charging, but I thought I'd let you know about the lanyards. You can purchase lanyards at the resorts and parks, but I've never seen one that would hold your keys, id, etc. I suggest stopping by Target or Walmart and picking up a travel wallet. They have plastic ones that zip and can be hung from the end of your lanyard for about $2.

At POFQ they will authorize $1000 from your CC and put that limit on your room key. If you reach that amount they will charge the money to your CC and then authorize another $1000 from your CC and again, put that limit on your room key.

Values = $500 limit and Deluxe = $1500 limit before they actually charge the card and re-authorize the next $$ amount.

Make sense?

Say I give the resort $500 cash to put on my room key so I can charge to it, will they give me a receipt to show that I have done this? What if I don't use the whole $500 during my trip, will they refund the money right then and there? Or will I have to wait for a check in the mail for the rest of the money?

Thanks!!!
