using points vs cash?

Thinking about making the last night in VWL a cash night if available (instead of points). My reasoning: the last night would be a 29 pointer (ouch) and I thought I could do better with cash. ? . Does anyone have a clue what a studio at VWL would cost in February? As an AP holder, might there be a discount?

AFAIK, the cash rates for 2008 have not been released yet.

In 2007, the rack rate for a studio during the first 1/2 of February was $305/night.
For the last half, a studio was $359/night

I am expecting some sort of increase for 2008. There have been AP discounts offered for February dates in the past, but that is no guarantee they will be offered again in 2008.

Rumor has it that WDW resort rates maybe higher for Friday and Saturday nights in 2008. So that may change member strategies for paying cash vs points.
