Using points from next year????

Okay here is my plan.

Can it be done?

We own 100 points at BLT with an April UY. I want to travel Nov 2010, and would like to get a 2BR MKV at BLT. So I have my 2009 points and will have my 2010 points in April, and would need to use my 2011 points to be able to book a 2 BR at 11 months out.

When can I tap into my 2011 points? Do I have to wait until after April 2010? Or since I am travelling in Nov 2010 can I borrow from UY2011?

Points availability/needs are based on the date of the reservation..., so for your Nov 2010 trip you'll need 2010 points...you can bank 2009 points into 2010, and you can borrow 2011 points into 2010...(but you have to do the banking and borrowing...borrowing's not such an issue; they just do that "on the spot"...banking takes a bit more thought ahead of time, as you have to do it at least four months prior to the end of your use year (w/an April UY, that would be by December 1, I think)...and don't forget, both banking and borrowing are final transactions...if your plans change (and your reservation), you can't "unbank" or "unborrow" those points...you can still use them, but only during your 2010 use year...

So when I call on Dec 12, which is my 11 month out, I will be able to use 2009, 2010, and 2011 points?

Like DEKEDM said, you have to bank the 2009 points for an April UY by Dec. 1. So you need to do that BEFORE Dec. 1. If you wait until Dec. 12 to try to use those banked points for your 2010 trip, it will be too late to bank them. I also have an April UY and need to bank some points by Nov. 30 to use for next year.

But as long as you get the 2009 points banked in time, you should then be able to make your Nov. 2010 ressie on Dec. 12 using your 2009, 2010, AND your 2011 points.
