Using points from multiple accounts...

How hard is it to grab points from multiple accounts to reserve a room somewhere else? If I own 100pts at AKV and 100 pts at BLT but want to spend 200 pts at Aulani or spend 4 nights at an SSR Treehouse Villa, how hard would it be to take points from both accounts if I had them available?

You can transfer them from one to the other. Each contract gets one transfer in or out per UY. So it can be done. Only ms can see the points, so they need to do the reservation for you. The other option is to book 2 back to back stays, one with each account. Then call me about either combining and or not checking out.

If they are all under the same Membership, you can combine points from different contracts at 7 months. If they are different Memberships (different UYs or titled differently), you would need to transfer or book individual nights as DaveNan said. Another option is to simply bank or borrow within a single contract, leaving the full points at one of your resorts (useful if you plan on another booking using the 11 month home resort advantage).

Different memberships happen when you have different UYs, If your contracts all have the same UY, then you have 1 membership and at 7 months out, all points from both contracts will function as one big pool of points for non-home resorts,

Those points can only not be combined when you are booking during the 7 to 11 month window at home resort,

I was thinking this we be the case, but thank you for clarifying. We are two weeks from our stay at AKV, and our thought is that if we come home planning our return we would buy into DVC. There is some discussion about buying 2 smaller contracts (around 100pts) vs one contract around 200 pts.

As long as you buy with the same UY..if buying resale..then 7 month bookings will be just as easy with one 200 point contract or two 100 point contracts.
