OK, I know some people think that using your points for the Disney Cruise isn't a good value, but I think it might be for us because we will go in the value season and get a high category room - which will use the least amount of points as possible.

What are your thoughts on this? We have never been on the Disney Cruise before, so we aren't spoiled. Will we be happy in a Cat 10 or 11 room? We won't spend a lot of time in the room.

I was planning on going in 2010, but those dates and point charts are out yet. Does anyone know when they will come out? Now, I'm thinking of maybe doing a 2009 trip, but undecided.

Thanks.

Kelly

Personally I think you'll be fine. I've done cat 10 and 11, I was very happy.

We are spoiled and prefer a veranda, and want natural light at least. We spend a lot more time in our room on a cruise than we thought we would.

I think if you call MS now, they have the point charts even though they aren't published anywhere (and I thought I had heard they went down:woohoo: a bit in 2009). I'm sure you'll be happy in either of those, but I might spring for a category 9 if you can - then you have a porthole for the natural light, even if you don't have a verandah.

Exactly what we did :goodvibes

We use most of our points to book cruises Every other year the odd years we sail either RCCL or Princess. Since there are 9 of us we have to use two years of points. We're going on the EBREPRO in August and it was booked with all points. Always book in cat 11 Never in the cabin anyway

We used some points to go in 2003 on the Wonder and had a great time. Followed it up on the Magic in 2004 but didn't pay (parents' 50th anniversary, they took the family, hurray!)
We are looking at a cruise in 2010 but the "word on the street' is the Magic will not be on the East Coast again that year, so if you want a weeklong cruise you may want to look at other lines.

Just compare the points to cash price so you have information to make a decision. Then realize that if you cancel, you're points are severely restricted. With all that info you can decide what's best for you and your family.

We use our points to go on DCL . . . every time we do an add-on and have surplus points we don't know what to do with (we're limited by #/weeks of vacation). If it were on cash, we'd not go on DCL as often as we do now.

If its your first DCL trip, take the advice below and getting a porthole room. It will make your trip all the much a better experience!

We used to use the verandah rooms and now settle on the porthole rooms.
