We just found out we will be moving to Northern CA next year.... so obviously we will have to take advantage of the location and plan a trip to Disneyland. We just bought into SSR last December and haven't used points yet (we did remember to bank this year's points!). Being that our family is too large for a regular room (2 adults and 4 kids), does anyone know if we will be able to use points to book one of the suites at the Grand Californian??? The member guide doesn't mention this.

Yes, you can use your points at DL
We visit DL at least once a year and use them each time.
And they do not charge $75 for it

I know we can use points there, but can we use them for a SUITE, rather than a regular room? The member's guide only mentions regular rooms.

btw--just had to add that you'll LOVE the Grand Californian. We stayed there on points last year and it was amazing. Great location and beautiful decor.

Have fun!

Yes, you can use points for a Suite. We did this in July. Just be aware that the point costs are phenomenal. You have to call MS to get that info as it isn't posted anywhere in print that I know of. Also, some folks over there aren't even aware it is an option. Just insist politely that you know it is and eventually you'll get the info you need.:D

Thanks! I did call and find out the rates. The CM I spoke with was not sure at first, but she did check and gave me the point ranges. For some reason, next year will have 3 rate levels rather than 2.... maybe to coincide with the 50-year celebration.
