using points and cash ressies

Question....Can you help??
If you want to use points to stay at a WDW HOTEL, and are short some, do you book it with MS and do they also take care of the cash reservation part? In this case it would be using points and then paying cash for one night. Do you have to change rooms or are the ressies linked? Thanks for any help you can offer!

MS cannot book any non-DVC resort for cash. You would have to book the points nights with MS and call CRO/WDWTC to book the cash night.

I don't know how they "link" the reservations. My suggestion would be to add a request to each reservation (cross reference with the other reservation). Make sure you mention the continuing reservation when you check in. I think there is less chance of having to move at a non-DVC resort than there is at a DVC resort when you do the same thing.
