I'm planning a quick trip to Disney in august, its kind of last minute and I'm on a budget, i'm okay with staying at pop century (my usual value resort if choice) but with it being my birthday trip, i kinda wanted to stay at a moderate resort this time. i saw on another board to try using orbitz to book and get them cheaper, its very true, and with a code i can get an additional 15% off…perfect. my main concern is, I've only ever booked my disney trips through disney, will i able to log on my disney account and sync this trip (if booked through orbitz) and add park tickets and do fast passes, etc? will i still get magic bands? how does booking through orbitz work? has anyone done this before? pros and cons? TIA

Yup it all works and someone had posted a 20% off disc. I think it was thanks20. Not sure if it's still working.

I saved quite a bit using this code and then getting tix from park savers. Magic bands are in, fast passes and dining scheduled.

You just need to call orbitz after scheduling and ask for the confirmation to link to Disney. Then you can go online to your MDE and link it.

yay! that makes is sooo much easier on me! the thanks20 code isn't working now, but the 15% is still good…you mentioned tickets from park savers? I've never heard of that, how does that work? and can you sync those with MDE as well? I've always just booked straight through disney but I'm trying to save as much money as possible this time since i don't have much time to save for it! hahah

Cheap tickets .com has a 17% code. It's journey. They apparently are the same company as orbitz. Actually try thanks20 there. I think it was for them not Orbitz. And if you are flexible with your dates , play around with dates a bit and you may find a better deal. You may decide a deluxe is in your range. If you use ebates you get a little back from them too.
Park savers has a good deal on 7 day hoppers. Same price as a 4 day I think. You order and wait 3 or 4 days and then they send you the numbers to link in your MDE.

It is cheap tickets that has the 20% off still valid. Just put in August 10 for 4 nights and the CSR is $140 a night, POR $170, WL $256

OP, things have changed with Orbitz in the past 5 months or so. I had a very difficult time getting them to list the correct number of people in the room, and provide the Disney reservation number. Perhaps that has changed recently.
I might suggest getting a quote for a magical vacation. I heard about it here and was VERY impressed with the quote. They don't discount values, but I bet you could get a mod or even a deluxe for very close.

i definitely don't want it to be a difficult time for my reservations or being able to link up with MDE which is why i was a bit worried about trying a 3rd party place for a disney room

Others have said that we aren't supposed to reference the particular travel agency here, but a google search will allow you to find it. This magical agency offers agency exclusive offers, and they responded to my request for a quote within a few short hours.
