Using Orbitz to book- what do I need to know?

There is a deal on Orbitz right now that I want to take advantage of in case the RO discount I am hoping for does not materialize.

What do I need to know about this? Can I convert it to a Disney package? Can I add a dining plan on to this? I think I read I can not get ME- which is ok as we are renting a van.

Any help would be great.

I've been pretend booking on Orbitz and ME is available as are the park tickets. In fact they are running a buy 3 day get 2 free with park hopper option. When you add the tickets, right below that is the sign up for ME. Nothing I see on Dining though, which is no big deal to our family as we don't participate in that anyway.

The only other thing I notice is that you will need to pay the entire amount at check out. No deposit option as if you went through the WDW site.

You can't add dining through Disney, and I don't believe Orbitz offers it at all. It won't convert into anything. You'll be getting what you're paying for. Disney will not discuss the reservation with you - everything will go through Orbitz. You can get ME. That is a perk of staying on site, regardless of who you book through.

If you can't sign up for ME on the website go to Disneymagicalexpress.com/USA if you end up needing it.

If a better deal comes it through Disney you will need to cancel with Orbitz and book it again via Disney or TA.

the ticket deal I was seeing on orbitz is the same price as Undercover Tourist.

I priced the vacation on Orbitz what we are doing through Disney and got the same price.

This morning we scored a deal on the Poly for around 35% off. That deal is gone now it appears.

We got lucky, hopefully others did too

I got a GVCL room at 35%...would not have been able to justify the same room with a 25% rate. So glad I was up late surfing last night, lol. It looks like a lot of people took advantage of the rates, b/c there was a lot of availability for my dates before at all levels and now only GV rooms are available...

Yes. It takes a few days from booking for it to be confirmed in the Disney system. When it is the disney res# will appear on your itinerary and you can add it to MDE.
