Using old tickets?

I have park hopper tickets from 2010 that seems to have theme and water park days left. Is there a way to learn if they're still usable?
Thanks,

I emailed ticket.usage@disneyworld.com and they helped me. Send copies of both sides of the tickets. You can also contact the internet help desk at 407-939-4357 and they may be able to help and direct you. Good Luck! I just got ours added to our MDE account.

Well, I can't speak to that specific situation but my daughter in law's father went to work for a company and found a stack of admission tickets to Disneyland in his desk. The company apparently bought them and gave them out as prizes to employees. The receipt with them indicates they were purchased in 1973. They took them to the park and Disney says they will honor them, but only can be exchanged for 10 current admissions at a time. A real bargain as back in 1973 you could buy JUST admission for $4.50, which is the face value of the tickets. Of course that was back when you had to use the A thru E tickets to get on most rides. Just the shows and parades were free. Now admission gets you onto the rides. Of course, the minute you buy a soda, lunch, tee shirt, Disney is still making money on you.

I took some with me in May and went to Guest Relations. Oh what a scene I caused as about 5 CMs at all levels gathered to figure it out. They were so excited for something unique. I think mine were much older than that. I used to keep a post it on them with notes of usage so according to my notes I had days. But I didn't trust that. Well I was right and have two days on each plus 4 waterparks. They told me to hold on to them until I am ready to use them because once they convert the expire kicks in with the date of first use.

They’re definitely still usable! I had 5 days left on a 10 day nonexpiring park hopper ticket from a 2006 resort stay. I decided to use them on an unplanned Christmas trip after letting our APs expire. I called the WDW Ticketing office & asked how to go about adding them to MDE. …. phone number 407-934-7639. I believe I got that number from the boards.

Make sure you have the tickets with you when you call. The CM needed the numbers from them to look all the info up. She did ask a few questions, when did we first or last use them, park etc. I didn’t know any of that, but it wasn’t a problem. She was able to look everything up. She instructed me to send an email to a certain email address with pictures of the tickets included. She was then able to convert the remaining days to digital tickets & add them to our MDE accounts.

The water park tickets were separated out from the park tickets & everything remained nonexpiring. We used 3 park days at Christmas & 1 day in May. We still have 1 day remaining. We haven’t used any of the water park days yet, but the correct number of days are listed.

Note…you will have to make park reservations when you want to use these tickets. The whole phone call took about 35 minutes according to my phone log.

I had four of the old 'paper' style tickets that were purchased way back in 2006, used for a 2008 trip. I saved them for years, and brought them to Guest Services at Disney Springs during a brief stay in May 2024. They were originally 7-day non-expiring hoppers.

They were easily able to determine that two of the four still had one park day remaining, and all four still had one waterpark and more option (either waterpark day or mini golf). They transferred each ticket from the paper version to a credit-card style ticket so we could apply them to our MyDisney accounts.

My daughter and I were able to use the one-day of park hopping for a trip last November. The one caveat for this ticket is that it required a park reservation, and guest services helped us make sure that it was pulled on the correct day that we wanted to use it (we had two-day/one park tickets purchased specifically for the Food & Wine Festival - we wanted the hopper for a day at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.).

We still have four waterpark/minigolf tickets to use whenever we want. These tickets retained the no-expiration character when originally purchased.

Mine clearly say non expiring. Even after using days, the remained still reflected nonexpiring . The ticket office I called knew exactly what to do.

Interesting. Mine are also old and unscannable. They had to input numbers in a few places. They said they would have to convert to regular tickets. Think I'll call and try your way. Odds are I'd want to use a day here and there for DH who does not go often. The rest of us have AP (but no waterpark). Did they assign to a person or could say the waterpark days be used by our whole party - in April there are 8 of us going, be great if we could all get in WP with them.

The water park ticket is listed as 5 days & assigned to me. It does have a transfer option, but I don’t know if that would go away if I used 1 of the days. So I don’t know if it could be shared among several people.

Re: GS not being able to make your nonexpiring… kind of complicated but we used 1 nonexpiring day to enter Studios on May 4th & had 1 nonexpiring admission left. On the way out, we stopped at guest services to activate our AP vouchers (there were no park reservations for APs but there were for other tickets so we didn’t do it on the way in). We were told the APs were activated, so when we went to MK the next day, we assumed the APs were used. I went to the app to show my AP for the discount at lunch, I noticed my AP wasn’t activated & my last nonexpiring ticket had been used when we entered the park.

I went to GS at City Hall. The CM didn’t know why our AP wasn’t pulled when we tapped in. And he had no idea how to return our nonexpiring ticket. A CM at an adjacent station knew how to scan our APs so they were active & return a ticket to our account. However, it kept showing an expiration date. Three CMs worked on it & no matter what they tried, they couldn’t process a nonexpiring ticket. After about 45 minutes, they suggested giving us a Complimentary 1 day ticket with an expiration date of 2099. And so it didn’t get accidentally used, they put them in dummy profiles in MDE account & gave me hard tickets as well.

The 3 CMs were very knowledgeable & were trying everything they could. It made me think only certain CMs or departments (like the ticketing dept) have the ability to issue tickets as nonexpiring. Their solution of using a 2099 expiration date was fine with us, since my husband & I will be expired well before then. :rotfl2:
