I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow, so I'm doing my last minute packing. I can't find my new member card, only my old one. Will I encounter any problems if I try and enter the Epcot lounge or Top of the World with the old design card? Can I still get a new one at SSR if need be? Thanks everyone!

Melissa

Yes, you need to new card. You can get a e-copy at your member home page. Also a photo ID.

Will the e-copy be accepted? I thought I heard there were some instances of the electonic copy not being accepted?

Yes, they are supposed to be accepted just the same as the physical card. I think that's been a few uninformed retail CM's or similar that just weren't aware of them. I'd expect the CM's at the member lounge are all trained on them.

Can we still get actual Member Cards at SSR?

I have mine, but my DH doesn't - I got him to call, but I am not very confident he'll actually get one. He wants nothing to do with an online account - I do all the Disney planning (which I do not mind at all, LOL).

I have all my cards now......DH doesn't have one. I requested one for him online and they said they would send one out, but not sure how long it will take.

Original reports that came out with the announcement of the new cards is that no, they would not be making cards onsite anymore. That was several months ago though and prior to the bad implementation so perhaps they changed but I'm a bit doubtful.

I used the digital member card several times last week, including at the DVC lounge. No problems.

Most likely, the old equipment was not capable of printing on the new card stock. It's unknown if they are going to get compatible printers or not.

The stock looks pretty similar and if not it could have been chosen based on the ability to use the existing equipment but you may be correct. Another possibility is they decided it wasn't necessary to maintain since they were going to provide the electronic version.

Except that you need an online account to print the digital version. For some couples, that is just not going to happen. My DH hates computer stuff. He can barely deal with email and printing simple Word Docs.

I don't think those details even crossed their minds when coming up with the idea. :surfweb: It's like FP+....everyone has a smart phone, right? Kiosks would need to be few and only for day guests who didn't have MDE accounts.

I never did receive a new card. Are they still being sent out, or did mine just get lost in the mail?

I never received my new cards either, so I will be bringing the old ones and the e-card on my phone. Let´s see what happens.

Contact Member Administration (same phone number as MS, different option on menu) to ensure your mailing address is correct. Then ask them to issue you a new card. DVC requires that each person on the membership must call to update their own information.

I emailed for mine and then when I got the second card for one membership I emailed to say DH never got one and they said they would send him one.

I got mine yesterday (after waiting several months). However, DH did not get one. Guess it is time to email.

I requested new cards months ago, never received them.

Called a few weeks ago, asking for DH & myself. Was told it could. Take 6 - 8 weeks.

I got mine last week (approx within 2 weeks!). One card in my name for each of my contracts. No soup for DH. Guess I need to call back. He said not to :Pinkbounctoo much, could've been the cards from first request lol.
