Using ME but need groceries

I will be using ME in June and staying at Pop Century. I'm renting a fridge and will need to pick up a few groceries and was wondering if there is a store within walking distance? If not, has anyone used a taxi and do they remember how much it cost for the trip? Any other ideas? I'm planning to pack some food in my luggage but will need perishables. Thanks!

I just ordered groceries yesterday from wegoshop.com If your order is under $100, then they charge $15 for delivery and will deliver directly to you at resort at a pre-set time you determine. We ordered basic breakfast stuff, some dairy, produce, packaged snacks, bottled water and juice pouches.

Others have reported how well they liked this service.

I was wondering this also. We will be using ME in July. I have a question--How far in advance do you place your order??

When I spoke with the woman who runs WEGOSHOP, she told me two weeks prior for us, because we will be doing a full shopping run for a weeks worth of groceries. We are staying in the cabins and have a full kitchen, so we plan to take advantage of it.

We will be taking ME from the airport to POR for our trip this June/July - we have decided we will purchase through wegoshop and have our groceries delivered to us the day we arrive.

They are closed some time in June/July so check their website for availability.

I just used DME last week. For groceries, I ordered from Gooding's, a private, small, upscale market in the area. Their website is http://www.goodings.com/

They have a $50 minimum, and charge a flat $10 delivery fee. You order by web as late as 48 hours in advance, but then they have to call you to for your payment information (credit card, etc.) which they don't handle on the website.

I stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort. The way it worked at CBR, Gooding's delivers to Bell Services, and then Bell Services takes it to your room. Gooding's separately bags and labels any refrigerated items. If you're not in your room when Bell Services calls, they'll hold the groceries for you and put the refrigerated items in their own refrigerator. They leave a message in your room to call them when you get in so you can take delivery.

Gooding's left one item out of my order by accident. I called them, and the next day they delivered more of it than I paid for.

the wegoshop branch that services WDW area resorts will be closed from 7/29/05 thru 8/7/05 & resume service on the 8th of August. HTH!
