Using Magical Express, but a little complicated

My family of 6 is flying into MCO on Friday night at 7:55pm, Nov 25 on Southwest. Our check in is Saturday, Nov 26 (needs to stay that day for free dining promo). While I know that I could do a split stay, prices are very high due to Thanksgiving crowds on Friday night and our family of 6 requires 2 rooms or a suite so expensive.

When we fly in on Friday, I'd still like to have my yellow ME tagged checked luggage go ahead to Art Of Animation even though we won't be there until the next day. Then my family will head to the Embassy Suites near the airport. We will utlilize the free hotel shuttle to the hotel Friday night with our carryon luggage needed for that night. We will eat the complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Then the free hotel shuttle will take us back to the airport the next morning to catch Magical Express to Disney World.

Any suggestions for how to make this happen smoothly! I did call Magical Express at the time I booked my flights and they seemed to think this would be fine. I just want to be sure to enter everything correctly in MDX for Magical Express.

I wouldn't count on this working. Presumably the dates are embedded into the bar code on the tags. Is there something that prevents a tag from a future date to be transported? Also what happens when the bag arrives at AoA? Do you just expect them to store it overnight?

I would collect my bags from baggage claim, take them to the Friday night hotel and bring them back to the airport to be put under the DME bus.

Yes, if it's not your check-in day I don't think you can count on them to transport your bags. I don't know if the resort will understand why the bags have arrived but you haven't.

I agree with everyone else. If you do this, you're running a huge risk of your luggage being misplaced. You should collect the bags yourself and bring them with you.

That's the part that can't/won't happen. It if it does happen it could easily cause problems and confusion.

Don't tag the checked luggage. Pick it up at the airport. Take it back with you and it will go under the bus when you take DME.

I agree with everyone else. Pick up your bags when you land and take them to the Embassy Suites for the night and then back to the bus in the morning.

DME and the dme luggage service is provided "during" your resort stay (not before or after) so you will have to pick up your bags when you land, take them with you to the airport hotel and bring them back in the am. The driver will load them under the bus for you and transport them to your resort and you can then store them with bell services until your room is ready.

If you try and use the luggage delivery service a full day early the bar code will not scan properly and they won't know what to do with your bags. Personally this is not a chance I would be willing to take with my bags for the sake of a minor inconvenience.

I would be especially wary of this at the super-busy holiday season. If one of your bags goes astray, it would be at least 24 hours before it was noticed. Good luck trying to locate it then!
