Hi everyone! My husband and I are attending MNSSHP in a few weeks. For the first time, we do not have hard copies of the Halloween party tickets - they are linked to our magic bands (and they are showing in My Disney Experience).

My question is, when we go to get our wrist bands for the party, will there be an area for us to simply 're-scan' our magic bands? Is there any reason we would need the hard copy?

Thanks in advance!

We went earlier this month.
No hard ticket needed.
Just scan your band and get your wristband for the party.

When you buy your tickets online you are supposed to print them out

If you have a 5 day package planned (with tickets), and MNSSHP party tickets and you plan on hitting MK on arrival day, if you enter at 4:30 pm how does it know to pull your party ticket and not a park ticket?

Idk, but we had no issues.
Never rcvd a hard ticket and we entered the park early.

Maybe, since they scan party goers to the right side, and reg guests to the left, they are able to set the right scanners to only read party tickets off the bands.

My travel agent purchased the tickets, so there was not an opportunity for me to print them.

I am not concerned with it pulling a day from our pass because we will already be in MK that day.

I am trying to figure out, from those that have attended, if we will be able to proceed to the wrist band area at 4:30 and obtain our wrist bands with use of the magic bands.

I attended, and had party tickets on my band and had to present my hard tickets.

Let me go back and clarify what I should have said...if you do not want to use a park ticket for the day and are ONLY using your MNSSHP party ticket you need your actual ticket.

If you have park tickets and plan on using a park ticket that day AND have the MNSSHP linked to MDE, then you do not need a hard ticket.

For the first time...

Is it bad that in my head it continued as:"...in forever....::)

And I'm a 39 yr old man! LOL

I would love to know the answer to this as well. We've got a 5 day and are attending the party on 10/9. By then we will have used 4 days of our 5 day tickets, and want to save the last day for Friday 10/10.

Well if we enter MK for the party at 4:00 using our bands, I want to make sure that we still have 1 park day left on our tickets!

I would call my travel agent and have them take care of this to get you a hard copy.

Ok, this makes sense. Thanks!

Do not scan your bands. You will need your party tickets.
We definitely won't be scanning them now! Great info!:thumbsup2

You need your hard tickets.

Nope. We attended the last two Friday parties and never had a hard ticket. Bands only and no issues. Honestly I didn't see a single hard ticket begin used to enter (literally not a single person had a piece of paper to show the cms). Everyone just scanned their bands. We entered at 4:30 the first friday and a little after 6 this past friday.

You DO NOT need hard tickets. Do not listen to anyone that says you do. The turnstiles are queued to look for party tickets on your band. They did not use a "day" on our regular tickets as long as we entered after 4.

we have park hopper option and received hard tickets for the MNSSHP which we will attend next thursday!

Raenstoirm is absolutely right in this regard as this is how it is supposed to work. I will emphasise the supposed to part, and I know they had a ton of problems last year when the system was still new.

Last year I was told explicitly NOT to link my party ticket to my MDE and had to pick up a hard ticket at will-call.

This year I was told that if I link the ticket number to MDE (which I did to get the FP+ options) that that was all I needed to do.

Now, phone CM's are certainly not always right, but I do believe that this is how it's intended to work and see no reason why it shouldn't after having the system running for over a year.

Same experience for my family this past Friday--in our case we had only party tickets registered in MDX. :thumbsup2

Last year was a total cluster. The system has gotten 100% better which is really saying something since it is still a total nightmare today. But from experience over the past two weeks, they did figure out out to use the party tickets properly, so thats something.

Exactly! Anyone going by how things were last year when all the MB stuff first rolled out, is making decisions and assumptions based on old info.
We had eight ppl go thru the scanners for the party on Sep 14, and no one had a regular ticket pulled from their band.
Everyone's party ticket was read from the band with no issues whatsoever.
We were not even given hard tickets when we made our purchase at our hotel concierge desk.

Yes :thumbsup2 We went to the first party this year on 9/1. When I ordered our tickets online they automatically linked to MDE but we also got hard copies mailed to us. I brought them to the party as I was afraid scanning our bands would use up a day off our tix (we didn't go to a park that day and entered for the party at 4:00). Used specific turnstiles just for party guests, didn't need hard tickets/weren't asked for them. Just had to scan bands. Didn't have any issues with a regular park day being used up.
