We had to deposit one weeks points into Interval International so that we could get two additional years use out of them. Has anyone used II for a trip to Hawaii? We are looking at the Mariott Ko Olina Beach Club on Oahau.

Thanks for any info.

DVC members deal with II thru member services. I hear for Hawaii trades that you need to put in your request early and have some flexibility.

We have requested either a studio or 1BR at the Ko Olina and gave then a range of 10 weeks (summer). We are looking for summer '08 and so far nothing has come up so far

We requested a 1 BR for a 10-week range in Summer 07. We only requested some of the properties for Maui or Kauai that Dean usually recommends as good value trades. These were the Marriotts, the Westin, and the Embassys (now Sunterras). If memory serves, we made our request in early 2006. A trade came through about 7 or 8 months laters in October 2006. Ironically enough, I got the call at the airport when we were flying over to Orlando and WDW.

You're too early to see any availability yet for summer of '08. We're Marriott owners (besides DVC) and we can't reserve our Marriott week until 12 months out. If you own two consecutive weeks with Marriott, you can book at 13 months out. Think of it kind of like DVC's 11 month window for reservations. Plus, I would imagine not all Marriott owners book at their 12/13 month window. Some people probably wait (just like DVC).

I think you'll get a studio pretty easily. A 1 bedroom would be tougher.

What or how many points did you deposit. Ko Olina is tough even for Marriott owners. A studio it not that difficult but all else is for most times of the year.

That is what we figured...I would love a 1Br but will be happy with a studio. I have been to Hawaii a bunch but DH and DS have not. I wanted to do Oahu for a first trip but not Waikiki beach...

Crossing our fingers....
