Using Gift Cards to pay DVC dues - no longer allowed?

Like others have said and done, we pay our 4 documents before the 15th of Feb in full. We have used Disney gift card. We have a spread sheet we fax to member accounting with numbers and usually it is processed in a couple of days. Never had a issue in past years. We just found out though that we no longer get a % off when buying Disney Cards at Target. Does another no anything different ? Thanks

Same for me...I used gift cards to pay my annual dues in Jan. 2013 and 2014 with no problem. Hopefully, the policy hasn't changed.

I know this is an old thread, but I just got off the phone with member accounting and wanted to share my experience. I previously had one contract on direct debit, and wanted to pay down the balance with some Disney gift cards. I was told that I had to get rid of the whole balance if I wanted to do that. I had enough gift cards, so I did.

The CM also said that I can prepay all year with Disney Visa rewards and gift cards towards next year's dues if I want to, which would alleviate the need to settle out the whole amount. They will just calculate the remaining balance in January.

It sounds as if Disney has started enforcing a rule that has always been in place. As others have described, if you're on a monthly payment plan you're only supposed to be able to make a credit card payment to pay off the remaining balance. DCfromVA is correct, though. If you have multiple contracts you can select to pay off one or more of those contracts. You can do this by calling, making the payment on the web site, or by sending a list of the gift card numbers via the "contact us" link on the web site.
