Using gift cards for things charged to resort uponm

We have left a credit card number with our resort reservation for charging things to the resort room. On our Disney cruise, upon embarkation, we turned in our Disney gift cards at guest services, and these were charged before our credit card. Can we do this at check in to our resort, and our gift cards will be charged before our credit cards?

no, you can't do it at check-in, but you can use the gift cards to pay for charges after the fact. We usually just go in every couple days and pay off our balance.

This is exactly what I do, too.

Just ask at check-in what limit you have before they charge your credit card. It used to be:

Value resorts $500
Moderate resorts $1,000
Deluxe resorts $1,500

I saw a post recently that deluxe was raised to $2500 so those numbers may be out of date.

That very well could be. If not, they should change it. When I stayed at a value during food & wine fest a couple years ago it seemed like it took no time at all for me to get to $500 (and they put the charge through).
