Using GCs AND a Disney Visa

Last time we visited DW, I used GCs to pay for our meals. At one of our last meals, i I didn’t have the full cost of the meal left on the card, so I put the balance on my Disney Visa and was surprised to see they gave me the 10% discount on the entire bill.

Does anyone know if this is SOP or just a mistake?

I've had 10% taken off the entire bill and 10% taken off just the balance paid with the Visa, so I wouldn't count on that always being the case. If you have an AP, the discounts are usually for the same places as the Visa, so you can pay with gift cards and receive 10% off by using that instead.

If you spend the amount required and put any amount on your Disney visa you get the discount.
I too have paid for a purchase partly in gift card and partly on my Disney visa and get the discount.
