Using extra days on ticket as hopper?

This will be our second trip to WDW. (Well, third really, but I don't count the one from 20 years ago because I didn't know what I was doing and it was not the most successful). If I add a couple of days to my theme park tickets, it costs about $10 each person for each day. Can I just do that and then if we decide to 'hop' one day, use that extra day's ticket? I don't really want to 'hop' as one park a day is all I can handle but in theory, could I do that instead of buying a park hopper ticket? Does my question make sense??

Nope, you have to buy a hopper to "hop". The only way this would work is if you had 2 totally separate tickets-- which would defeat the cost savings.

No, the computer system will not allow you to use more than one "day" on a ticket in the same day.

You'd have to have a whole separate ticket, which would cost more than the hopper option on your original one.

nope...I asked once and others said that the extra days won't work to gain entrance to another park after using one earlier in the same day, you would need to buy a regular priced ticket...apparently people try this often, and are turned away.
