As the point value has come down considerably for DLP we have enough for a two night break and would love to stay at the Disneyland Hotel.

Has anyone ever been successful in booking this hotel using DVC points?

Lisa

Hi Lisa
Yes we stayed at the Disneyland on points in January. It was wonderful!!!! I had stayed there once before (when I was a cast member at Disney Store and therefore got some discount!) but had never been able to justify the amount of money needed since. So staying on points was a great excuse. We wanted to stay at DLRP for 3 nights but could only afford the points for 2,(going home to AKV in Dec) so stayed the first night at the Explorers BIG MISTAKE! Had never stayed offsite before and never will again!
So go ahead and phone MS and book your stay in the pink palace, but remember that now you have to pay for length of stay passes for all of your party (payable when you book) and you now also pay a $95.00 booking fee.
Enjoy

Thanks for that tinkerbell 766, we are buying annual passes so thats not a problem. I wasn't aware of the $95 booking fee thought, what is this for? I thought this was only for interval exchange and the likes not part of the Disney group

Actually it is a problem if you have annual passes because DVC will NOT allow you to book any of the DLRP hotels on points if you do not purchase length of stay passes for all members of your party at the time of booking. This is the reason that the points per night have come down so drastically. The length of stay pass used to be included but not now. You are obliged to buy them whether you have APs or not or they will not book you. I would have bought APs myself but for this rule. It stinks!!! I still decided to book anyway as I would have to have bought passes anyway. Breakfast is still included. I don't regret it for a minute. We had a great time staying in that beautiful hotel
The booking fee applies now to everything that are not DVC owned properties even other Disney hotels

Thanks for that tinkerbell, thats a real pain about the passes and the fee. Not sure I will use the points for DLP now, shame though.
