Using Disney Reward $$ for payment @ resorts

We will be staying on-site for three nights in August and I currently have $273 in rewards through my Disney Visa. Just wondering if anyone used these to pay for their rooms on-site and what the process was.

We haven't used them for resorts however we did use them at WDW restaurants and stores. We just gave them the card and the treated it like a charge card, we signed a slip and the remaining balance was on the slip.

I would guess you could simply present the card at the hotel for payment and they would treat it like a credit card.

We did just that in January. There was no problem at all using the reward money, except that it took the Cast Member forever to figure out the right code to put into the computer. Even had to get a manager to come out and they both played with it. It was late in the evening when we checked in and there weren't many CM's around. But finally everything was done and worked out great!

When I checked into my room (which was already paid for) I had them apply the money to our account cause we were using our room cards for charging things. This worked out well and I didn't have to carry them around and probably lose them cause the ones I had were big - didn't fit in my wallet!
