Using Disney GC purchased online through Target

I am considering buying a $500 gift card from Target with a 5% discount using my Red Card.

If I choose e-mail delivery, how do I use the gift card? I assume there will be a bar code on my email I can scan when purchasing. Will this be a problem anywhere within WDW? Can I share the bar code with my husband so we can both use the same gift card?

If you are staying onsite, charge to your Magic Bands and then go down to the front desk every few days to apply the GC to your balance.

Personally I would buy a small GC at a store and transfer the funds to it. that way i have an physical GC.

I buy the eGift Cards and get the card number via email. That works fine.

This is what I've done in the past. I now have one physical card that I keep to go with me to the parks. I replenish it with funds from e-gift cards as needed.

I'm with the previous posters who purchase a separate physical card with a low balance and transfer the balance of the ecard to a physical card.

Yes it is. I had to do it last year when my daughter accidentally threw my gift card away with her receipt from the bakery in France!

I use my phone web browser to transfer funds around. I have multiple cards with a large amount on them that I keep in my resort safe. I can transfer to the card in my wallet at any time. I also keep an additional physical card in my account with no balance (or small balance). I keep that in my safe at the resort as well. That way, if I lose my gift card at the park, I can quickly go online and transfer the balance to the card in my safe.

I do this for our spending money. I buy online using my Red card to get the 5% and then they email you the gift card code. I then go to my Disney gift card account and I add the gift card code and then I transfer to a primary Disney gift card. If I do gift cards for the kids, I go in the store to purchase them there so they can each keep up with their own gift card to spend.
