Just got a digital camera and am wondering if any of you have any ideas for making a digital scrapbook? Software recommendations?

You can make a great scrapbook page just by using Microsoft Word. You can use word art for your titles, insert photos into the text, you can journaling boxes. I use it all the time.

There are many people that do digital scrapbooking, myself for one. It saves money time and reduces bulk in the scrapbook. Although many people frown upon it, as it is not traditional srapbooking.
If you have a good quality printer, acid free papers, use soy based inks and have a little know how, you can produce some fine pages.
If you become pretty good in Photoshop you can create grommets, fibers, borders, ribbon, stamps and textures among many other various things to embelish your digital page. Otherwise you can buy CD's with these things on them. Example, I just made this chenille yarn and grommets to use on a beach page.

Try doing a search under digital scarpbooking, you'll come up with some info. Simple Scrapbooks recently published a Digital Scrapbooking Special Issue Guide, that is available at the magazine racks.
Have Fun!

Is it not right to combine regular photos with printed digital photos in one scrapbook? I plan to print my digital pictures at work with our color laser printer on acid free paper. Is that a bad idea? I am a new scrapbooker who is just learning!

I can speak for all ink jet inks but Epson's inks are acid free.

There is no reason why you can't print out your own photos and scrap them with traditional prints.

Color laser prints are not as good as inkjet prints though.

My mistake, it is an inkjet printer! An HP. I'll have to check the cartridge box and see if it is acid free. Thank you safetymom!

You are welcome. You are probably going to have to check the HP website for that information. They also have a scrapbooking section.
