Using DDP knowing you won't get value?

Big Announcement! I am offering a new Dining Plan that has many advantages over the plans sold by Disney while keeping the pre-paid "peace of mind" lifestyle so many Disney patrons simply can't live without. Go ahead and stuff your faces with food. We've got you covered.

Presenting...the "Ratso Disney Dining Plan!"

I've partnered with a number of banks and financial institutions so you know your money is safe. You will receive a special card that you may use at any Disney restaurant including all the ones at Disney Springs. Want to dine at a signature restaurant? No problem! We don't penalize you. What's more, menu swaps are allowed! Want an appetizer, but not a dessert at a table service restaurant? Go ahead! We don't care. Order three appetizers instead of an entree? Go for it! The "Ratso Disney Dining Plan" doesn't even require you to buy refillable mugs. Best of all, our dining package is a rollover plan. No more worriying about unused points. No scrambling to buy snacks at the end of your trip. Want a light meal today? No problem. We'll credit you for your inexpensive entree and allow you to apply the difference to a future dining experience. And yes, you can even save your unused dining credit for a future Disney trip!

You're probably wondering how much it costs for the "Ratso Disney Dining Plan." Here's the best news of all: For a limited time only, I'm offering it at the SAME price as the Disney DDP!

I know there are some who want a deluxe experience, so I am working on a "Ratso Disney Deluxe Dining Plan" that offers you even MORE value. Yes, you can get the PRIME category one seats at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue with my deluxe plan! Victoria & Albert's? No problem! I'm looking to get it priced at the same rate as the DxDDP.

You know, for a guy with 70 posts under his belt, you sure have decided to get invested in ridiculing anyone whose preferences and experiences do not mirror your own. I have no idea if you lurked before joining, and honestly, I don't care. What I do care about is the impact your disrespectful and disparaging comments will have on people who come here looking for assistance when they need to make decisions between a RO discount and FD, adding in the differences in resorts levels and addons that may be required, will hear your declaration that the DDP is not a decent option, and believe you. Now you may be right, but what if you are not? Unless these folks are comfortable sharing what they need to share with us, we cannot help them, and your derisive comments tend to shut some folks right down.

This new post of yours is one more indication that you really have not been listening to what people are saying. There is more to making these decisions than taking Ratzo's advice and running with it. I have no idea why you are so sure you have the best answer for people you have not yet once considered have a different set of dynamics than your family has.

Very funny, but what happens when you want the most expensive entree on the menu, dessert, and 2 snacks a day and you run out of money on day 5 of a 7 day trip? Are you going to fund the rest of the meals? You still have to worry about whether there is enough on that card to make the week, and keep track of what you have left. a royal pain IMO. Dining plan is much easier.

Let's be honest. You probably don't need to be going to Disney World if you're that poor at managing money and your budget is that tight.

True enough. I know that most of us here have traveled to WDW often, know the menus and know our family's preferences. We know what to expect, and we plan for it. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who are first time visitors and really have no idea what is offered, the real costs, and what dining and snacking in WDW really costs. Now if anyone goes without a cushion or a means of paying for their expenses if their budget falls short, that's their problem, Of course. But what if they wanted to come here for help, and were told in no uncertain terms that thee DDP's are a waste of money? No one asked what the offers were, or any pertinent questions about their family, their resort discount if any, and what they expected from the food budget they had? This is why I get frustrated when someone insists that they know the best answer, but they base it on their own preferences and family. At some point I think we all need to recognize that our way is not the only way, nor is it the best way for everyone else. And I sure don't want to ridicule those who truly want a discussion to help them, because I remember my first posts and questions. If I had been ridiculed I would have left and not returned. I wont participate in doing that to anyone.

If you're 5 days into a 7 night stay, as the PP stated, and you're still ordering the most expensive thing on the menu and dessert and 2 snacks a day and haven't figured it out...you can't manage money and probably don't need to be going to Disney World.

... or you need to book your next trip on the "Axiom".

Then you should get the "Ratso Disney Deluxe Dining Plan." You have to keep track of your points on the DDP, too. What happens when you run out of points on that? Starve? Of course not. You reach in your pocket and pay for what's not covered. Same as my plan but without all the extra benefits. I think I should be charging more! It's really a great plan.

DH and I stayed in October on the DDxP and rented DVC points for one night. Here is my breakdown

Points = $180
Rack rate = $417 plus 6% tax $442.02
savings of $262.02

1900 Park Fare $67.84
Narcoossee's $215.18
Micky bar $5
TOTAL 288.02
DDxP 223.46
Savings of $64.56

Not including the drink cups which we used quite frequently and I forgot to use one snack credit so my savings on food alone would be close to $70

For our family of 2 DDxP works.

We don't run out of points because they cover ANY entree we want. I don't have to worry about the cost. As long as I plan 7 one credit meals and 7 CS for 7 days, its impossible to run out, unlike your plan where I run the risk of running out of money before I am done. I can't afford your deluxe plan, and would never use it all anyway. I still want to know if you spot me the rest if I run out? If not ,your plan doesn't work for me.

Frankly, you would not be able to afford the DXDDP if you were not splitting 2 plans 8 ways.

Stop presenting her with facts. That's considered harassment in some circles.
What facts? i have no intent of splitting anything, hence the confusion. Clearly, she thought I was someone else. I still want to know if you are spotting me if I run out on your plan?? As I said, without that insurance, it simply doesn't work for me.
