If we used DCL transportation do you get your KTTW at the resort before going to the terminal? And do they take your luggage at the resort and it just shows up at your room at the cruise?

In other words, do you bypass the check in desks at the terminal if you use the DCL transportation?

I've heard that they do this now at the airport but I haven't heard for sure at the resort. I know years ago, when they offered a true land and sea (2000), that the card I used at my resort was the same card I used on the ship. I didn't have my dining rotation on it - the dining rotation was on a ticket in my room. Since that time, all my other sailings have been linked with land trips that I booked separately.

When my husband and I cruised in May we did a WDW trip beforehand, and our KTTW card served as our key onboard the ship as well. Disney gathered our luggage around 8:00am the day of the cruise, and it showed up in our stateroom around 2:00pm. Once we got to the port we just walked straight through security and into line to board--we checked in at the resort the day prior to the cruise.

There is no more official land/sea packages anymore. DCL gives you the option to book a pre night or post night stay at the DCL site.

If you buy DCL transfers and are staying at WDW prior to the cruise DCL will handle your luggage (they pick it up around 8:00 and it shows up in your stateroom) but you still need to check in at the port. Disney is testing different ways to get you your KTTW card before actually arriving at the port by offering them at the airport when you take transfers. There was some testing at the resorts as well but it is not fully in place. You can certainly ask at your resort but I think the answer is no right now. Please let us know what you find out.

DCL is trying to relieve some of the long lines expected at the port when the new ship comes into service. They know there will be more people in the terminal since the ship holds more people so they are trying other ways to give you your KTTW before arriving at the port....just don't think it is 100% operational yet at the resorts.

Sunday should be the worst day for traffic when you board the Dream. Both the RCCL Freedom and the Carnival Sensation will be in port. However I don't think it will be bad as the traffic pattern is being developed to overcome that. Thursday the only othe ship in is the Carnival Sensation and there will be light traffic around.
