Using Continental Miles on Amtrak

Is there anywhere online where I can get information on using Continental miles to travel on Amtrak?

I think it is how it works
a. you transfer your continental miles to Amtrak
b. If you have enough points you can book the ticket with amtrak.

I think Amtrak does not allow more than 25000 points transfer per year even I have seen people posted that they were about to transfer more than 25000 points. I am sure that Amtrak does not allow you to combine points and cash, say if you need 4 tickets and a car, you will need 30000 points, you cannot use 20000 points and pay for one ticket.

Hey tapcat just did this myself. I switched 35000 miles to Amtrak from Continental and joined Amtrak's guest rewards. I booked a one way thru Guest Rewards to sanford on the AT w/my minivan and sleeper car cost me $0. Return trip costing me $595. That's for 2 adults and 1 child and 1 infant. Just hope I can handle the drive from NJ to Va. with 2 little ones..Enjoy!!

If I am understanding this correctly, if you need 2 coach seats and an automobile, I would need enough rewards to book ALL of these. I couldnt get one coach seat free (with my rewards), then pay cash for the car and second passenger?

That's correct.
I called Amtrak during the summer and asked the same.

Obviously, you can use the rewards for one way and pay the return trip.
BTW, they normally (at least the past summer) have promo in the summer so that kids travel free, but the promo does not apply for reward travel, hence you still will need to have enough points for the kids.
