Using Banked Points

We have a June UY and are going to be booking at 2 night stay at the 11 month mark from next December. We have to bank by January. My questions is if I bank my 2025 UY points, Im assuming when I go to make my reservation for next December which is my 2026 UY I will be able to use the banked points first for that reservation? I would hope they wouldn’t force you to use your 26 UY points first for some odd reason.’

Most restricted points get used first, so yes it’ll use you banked points first.

The rule followed by DVC, including in its online reservation system, is to always use banked and any already borrowed points for a reservation before using the current use year points for the trip.

I can't remember where I read this but points are taken in this order:

Holding​

Banked​

Borrowed​

Transferred​

Current UY​

OTUP are treated like transferred points. I learned that the hard way this past summer when I modified a reservation that included a mixture of most of the above. I wanted the OTUP to be used first and then borrowed points but it didn't work put that way.

To add, the use of transferred or current UY is up to the owner.

If you want to use your own points before transferred you can.

But, all your own restricted points have to be used before transferred in points!

Oh wow I would def want OTUP to be used before borrowed points, but I guess it doesnt really matter. I feel like a DVC noob today
