Using banked points

DH and I are considering adding another contract, one with banked points that would need to be used within the next year. We currently have a reservation for December using current year points. My question is would we be able to use the banked points from the new contract for our December trip, then bank those points into the 2016 year?

Not sure we would go again before the banked points would expire, although I know they could be rented.

If you booked that trip using your home resort advantage, you won't be able to swap out banked points from a different resort. If it's the same home resort, or you booked at 7 months, you should be able to "reallocate" the points. That assumes that the new contract is part of the same membership and use year.

In addition to supersnoop's advice, if you booked at 11 months and there is still availability at 7 months you can reallocate the points.
