Using an adult TS credit for a child?

It might be possible under the changes to use an adult TS credit for her DD earlier in the week making leaving 2 child TS credits available.

I believe even with the new rules you cannot combine different types of TS credits for a 2 credit meal on the regular plan.

I think you are correct but I did see a portion where they removed the limit on the number of credits you could use at a meal. The example given said that you could use your credits to cover grandparents who joined you for a meal but weren't on the plan. I don't see why you couldn't apply the same rules to your own party.

So basically I could see them earlier in the week ordering an adult meal for their daughter and using an adult ts credit to pay for it. That would then save them a child to to use at CRT.

Hopefully everything will be explained in detail once the soft launch ends.

I thought of the OP when I saw the announcement of the dining plan. I can see this being very helpful for the OP. Also, no more worried about using too many adult credits for their party. If she orders all adult TS meals for one meal, no big deal and no need to split the checks because the credits don't match.

If she's on the regular plan, TS credits will remain split between adult and child credits. If she's on the deluxe plan she can order all adult meals but not on the regular plan.

I mean she would be able to juggle her credits. order an adult TS meal at a different meal (So 4 adult TS meals) and then for the Castle meal, she would have 2 child credits and 2 adult TS credits available.

Yes, that would work because she can now spend extra adult credits at one meal.

My internet service was down for a few days, and I am just seeing the additional posts on this thread. I will check out those articles, but this does seem promising. Thank you all!

They will if they use an adult credit (maybe one that won't be used by the group going to Universal) to buy a meal for their daughter in a different restaurant, and save the child credit to pay for CRT. Which will be fine under these proposed rules.

Another thought, that if you are trying to find an adult menu she may like, don't forget that a hamburger is really just a hamburger. You can order off the adult menu at a TS and get something to your specification. Don't like the amazing everything on it burger on the adult menu, order it plain with just the cheese, please. Chicken with okra and rice almondine not something appealing to a child, could we get that with corn and plain rice instead? You can substitute sides at many places, or leave stuff off of sandwiches etcs., If youre going to The Plaza or 50's Prime Time, these places would work good. Also, I know from experience Captain's Grill took a strange adult grilled chicken sandwich for my then 10 year old adult (lol) with all kinds of things on it and after leaving off weird peppers and things, the grilled chicken sandwich on a normal roll with cheese was his favorite meal of the trip! Not to mention, he had no problem with the adult dessert trio sample they had!

Just to update everyone, we were successful at using an adult TS credit for my youngest. We did so at one of the buffets, since she could eat whatever she wanted to anyway. That left us with the exact 2 child and 2 adult TS credits we needed for CRT on our last night. I have to say though, if my husband and oldest weren't at Universal that night, we would not have done this. We really met all the princesses we needed to prior to this dinner. Thanks for the advise.
