I was looking into this last week and have converted quite a lot of tesco vouchers to airmiles during the past few days.
In a time before high airport taxes it was a really cheap way to fly - not much cheaper these days.
I was given various quotes for the approx dates I chose of 1st - 3rd August
the quotes are for 2 adults, 3 kids aged 9, 8 & 5
travel by Eurostar - 6020 airmiles
or 430 miles per adult plus £65 & 580 miles per child plus £30
Bearing in mind there are 5 of us I would need 2 rooms if booking into a Disney hotel, I asked for a quote for Santa Fe
2 nights/3 days is 3780 miles per room plus £162 per room
3 nights/4 days is 5650 miles per room plus £171 per room
(for the 2 night quote this would be a saving of £430 on the disney direct price)
Davy Crocket 2 bed bungalow would be 3160 miles plus £502
(this would be a saving of £174)
These quotes all include park passes
I just asked for these to get an idea of what I need to collect.
Tesco has confused me because for the vouchers I sent by post I have been given 80 airmiles for each £2.50 whereas the ones I exchanged online I have only been given 60 miles
Sorry I know this goes on a bit, but it gives an idea and if you have particular dates and hotels in mind then if you ring airmiles they should be able to give a more personalised quote.
Still desperately trying to persuade DH to go this summer then we can see High School Musical
