Using adult TS credit for child?

Because of the way we purchased our dining plan, our number of TS meals won't divide equally for our group. We'll have a couple extra adult credits and one too few child credits.

If we eat at a buffet can we just tell them to use x number of adults and x number of child credits?

(i'm aware that value wise this might not be the most beneficial on the surface, but it works for our family)

I think you're going to have go give us a little more information. It sounds like you might be on the Deluxe DDP, and if that is the case, then it doesn't matter. The adult/child credits are not separated. If you're on the regular DDP, then it MIGHT make a difference. Is the buffet your last meal?

It will be our last meal.

We have two rooms but will have DDP for one room (2 adults and 1 child) and QSDP for the other (1 adult and 1 child) for 7 nights. Doing this, we have 14 adult TS and 7 child TS. For our character meals we need a total of 12 adult credits, but 8 child credits. Instead of paying oop, I'm wondering if we can use one of those leftover adult credits for the extra child credit we'll need.

I imagine you'll be fine, but there's really no way of knowing until you get there. The other way around definitely would NOT work, but using an adult for a child means more money for them.

If there were another TS meal or two you had thought of doing, you might want to look at changing the way you did this. For about $185 more than you have paid, you could get the DxDDP for that one room that has DDP and not buy a plan for the other room, and share those credits between the 5 of you. It would give you 63 meal credits to use. Some would say you could do it the other way around and put the DxDDP on the 1A/1C room and share the credits. That would give you 42 meal credits. The majority of reports have said they had no problem using child credits to get adult meals when using the DxDDP, but some have been told they had to order kids meals. If you're comfortable doing it that way, the total cost is just $1018, which would save you some money.

We actually booked under the Summer Quick Service Value Resort promotion so the CM always get confused when I call to ask about any changes. So we all get a refillable mug and one CS meal per day included in our package anyway. The DxDP might really be too much food for us. We are spending 2 days at Universal as well and want more of the flexibility that we can get with CS.

The reservations we currently have are 2 breakfasts (8am on a park day) and one on our departure day, a dinner on our last night and the latest dinner I could get at AK earlier in our visit. So I'm hoping these plans won't interfere too much with our park time.

I'll look into the DxDP to see if that would be beneficial to us!

If you upgraded from the summer deal, I think I would just leave it as is. I would hate for something to mess that up. You really should be fine using the adult credit for a child.
