Using a professional touring plan

Now that we have Genie etc. has anyone purchased a touring plan from any of the companies offering same? If so, how did it work out for you? Would you do it again? Was it worth the money?

I had Touring Plans and had it set up with a plan at each park and also for Universal. Ended up not using any of the plans.

I have used them for mainly in the mornings. When I wanted to make sure I can get to the headline attractions. They seemed to be accurate. But after awhile it takes a bit of work to stay on target.

I would instead recommend using a DW line app. I think there is one that I have used from Touring Plans. They always seemed to be highly accurate

I just subscribed to Touring Plans. My trip is in a few weeks so we'll see how much I use the actual plans. Pre-trip, I'm really enjoying their crowd calendar as it is helping me decide which days to go to which parks. They even emailed me when some park hours changed, which is probably something I wouldn't have noticed on my on. I am also using their room request service, and was able to use their room guide to figure out which building in my resort I wanted to request.

Looking ahead, I'm not sure how much I'll actually use the park plans. I feel like the plans were great within the last year where there were no Genie+/LL to deal with, but I don't think the app or website has been updated yet to add them in. For example, at HS I want to rope drop MMRR, buy a IA for RotR, and get LL for Slinky. All of this is different than their current suggestions for me. And once you add in LL, things are so much more up in the air. Yes, I may wait until park close to get on Thunder Mountain if the lines are long all day, but if I snag a LL for it midday than I'm going to head there. You can adjust the plans on their app based on what you are doing, but really I'll be planning my day based on which LL I get in which order.

I will be interested in how TP plans evolve as they study the new system and make updates.

Boy were they incredible way back when with the paper fastpasses. They would tell me where to pick one up, what to do in between and when to go back to use my paper fast pass. It was so accurate, mindless, and easy. And it really minimized lines and helped make a better park experience. I think of the new system being kind of like this old system, but we'll see.

With FP+ they would tell me sometimes not to bother using my fastpass.

Looking at touring plans I already have tentatively setup for March recently, I already see an option to put in the new LL/Genie stuff, but I guess that's just more time on an app that could be a negative for many. I also saw their advice that says not to bother with the new stuff unless it saves you 30 minutes over standby.

I put a TP together for HS for our upcoming trip. I just picked the headliner attractions. Told it I was using ETPE. It sends me to ToT first and has 45 minutes slated there before going to RNRC for a 63 minute wait. So instead of going to ROTR, MMRR, or SDD at 8:30, I go to ToT and RNRC and it says I'll be done at 10:45. That was the end of any thought of using a TP for me. With that route I'd probably be off RNRC by 8:45.

I use Touring Plans for their wait times. Gives me a good idea where to go next as we're walking around or if a ride is worth heading towards. I also do my part to help with times when I can.

I don't use the actual plans as we tend to change things up too much during the day. Same reason why I won't use Genie.
