Using a new AP for the AP rate -do I have to active first?

I've signed up for the AP rate for Coronodo Springs, and ordered myself an Annual Pass to get that rate. Does that pass have to be activated by me entering a park before I can use it to check in at that rate?

Technically, yes; however, I've checked in at least 4 times with nothing more thana voucher, and I've never had a problem.

How do I active it? This is the first one I've had. Do I just go up to the park and try it?

You can exchange your voucher for your new pass at the Guest Services locations outside any of the Parks.

I checked into POR in April with AP rate. They said it was fine for me to present the AP the next day after returning from the park where I purchased it.

I ordered the AP over the phone with Disney. Does that mean I will only recieve a voucher? Or will I get the actual annual pass?

Also, I am coming in around 3:00pm by air to Orlando, and would like to use the AP to go eat at Epcot. (Staying at Dolphin!) Is there a problem with getting it activated late in the day?

You'll get a voucher until you activate it. Guest Services are opened as long as the Parks are open, you won't have a problem. Have fun.

I've never been asked to show an AP. In fact usually I'm not asked to show any discount cards (AAA, Entertainment, DC). PBH did ask to see my Entertainment card.

Just so I dont sound contradictory to myself, I am staying FIRST at the Dolphin, where I don't need the AP rate, but want to be able to walk into Epcot that night using the AP.

Days later, I will transfer to Coronodo Springs.

I was concerned about not having an activated AP also. I emailed Disney and they sent me a response stating the voucher was all needed to check in. I printed a copy of the email to take with me just in case.
