Useless History Lesson

Ok, here's today's useless history lesson.

Today in 1813 Captain James Lawrence, Commander of the US Frigite Chesapeake, said, "Don't give up the ship." He later lost the battle to a British Frigate

in 1792 Kentucky became the 15th state.
in 1796 Tennessee became the 16th state.

Honestly, social studies/history were my very least favorite subjects in school. Lot of boring teachers. I did have a very interesting history teacher in college, though. (Not that I remember anything. )

I wouldn't say just because people may choose not to read and/or reply to certain posts that it necessarily means they have no interest in the topic, though. I think it all depends on why a person is here.

That's my take, anyway.
