Usefulness of visitor magazines and coupon books within WDW?

Visiting WDW for a weekend later this month, with a rental car. Read a tip in the Unofficial Guide that it's useful to pick up free visitor magazines and coupon books on US 192 before entering WDW. If we're going to be eating and shopping (and staying at Shades of Green) entirely within WDW during our trip, will any of these coupons be of any use? Any particular place on US 192 that we should pick them up?

I've never done this, but I assume that if there were any coupons worth anything for people staying within Disney, there would be people here recommending it....

to the Dis! If there were any official WDW coupons worth using in there it would be all over the budget board here. I've never seen mention of anything official WDW, have seen a few coupons here and there for some of the shops at DTD like the old Virgin store (closed), Planet Hollywood, etc. I wouldn't go out of my way to get those as those discounts were minimal. Also some of those tourist trap places are just a cover for agressive timesales pitches so if that thing annoys you I wouldn't bother with stopping.

short answer: those coupon books are for OFF SITE venues.


they are also mostly 'special' rates for hotel stays.. none of which are actually any cheaper than any other readily available discount

Those magazines usually have some pretty good coupons for Sizzler-like places, and for other attractions like Gatorland, but not for Disney itself.

I agree, but the Tables in Wonderland card is only available to Florida residents or Annual Pass Holders....

Not a Florida resident, so will be Tableless in Wonderland, but thanks for the quick answers about the uselessness of coupon books in WDW!
