Tess: I don't think I've ever mentioned how much I love your "pout" pictures. :teeth: :rotfl: They crack me up every time I look at them. You have a very understanding family with a very good sense of humor to get those pics. My DH would never go for that. Heaven forbid he be made to look silly. :rotfl:

My husband is all about being silly! He's more of a kid than the kids and I have to admit, he and I have a lot of fun together. Now, we don't necessarily behave that way around here, but when we're on vacation we figure what the heck--no one knows us and if you can't be a kid in Disney. . . :goodvibes

Glad you enjoy the photos--we love doing them and have others that we have taken over the years annually as well. Those traditions are sometimes the most memorable!

I have a question regarding BWI. We are staying concierge in December and some friends are joining us for several nights. They have their own room, non-concierge. Do you know if it is possible something through concierge for them/their room?

Also, has anyone ever ordered the "Chocolate Mickey with strawberry tuxedos" or the "BW Chocolate Frame w/Truffles"? Any pictures? Any comments on how these are (taste, looks, etc.)

Thanks for any info.l

paladin Are your friends arriving after you? If that is the case then I would ask one of the CMs at the Innkeeper's Club to arrage it for you. These treats come from room service and they would just charge your CC and have them delivered to the room you request. I did the Mickey and the strawberries for friends last year. Of course we were all staying in the same room, it was my girls only trip. They were delivered when we went out with a card . The presentation was beautiful. The strawberries were yummy. The chocolate Mickey did not get eaten, it was too pretty. I have received one of the chocolate postcards as a gift in my room from the staff, but have also saved that! I never have had the truffles, but if they are what is served in the lounge, well, they are heavenly.
You are going to have such a wonderful trip. The cast there is just the best around and have become very close to my entire family. We just think the world of all of them.

Thanks for the info. KerryCM. Yes, they are arriving after us, so I will do as you suggest. Now I just have to decide which to get - decisions, decisions (gee, maybe I should order them for us and then we can go a taste test!)

I am really looking forward to this trip. I know that dealing with the IPO has been great - they are pleasant and very quick to respond to all of my requests.

Hi,

I'm planning a vacation to WDW and can't decide whether to stay CLV or just simple LV (Poly of course, or should I say Polynesian...;)). The catch is that my family and I eat only kosher food. This means that (besides fruits and vegetables) the food in the CL lounge is useless to us.

I was wondering if the other benefits of CL are worthy of the money. Can the CL CM assist us in getting the kosher meals at the disney restaurants? Can they help us getting kosher food from nearby grocery stores (last time we were there we bought food from the Publix supermarket)?

I know that they help plan the itinerary etc', but helping with the kosher food issue, would make our vacation much easier, and happier. In fact this would probably be enough to order the CLV.

We've booked a split stay at AKL for next August. Sat-Tues we'll be staying standard room, Savannah view and Wed-Sat we'll be staying concierge. The split stay is to ensure that at some point we get a Savannah view because you can't be guaranteed that in concierge. Anyway, one of our major reasons for doing concierge was to book both the safaris and I just learned (from reading this thread, I think) that the morning safari at AK only runs on Sun and Tues, which means we won't qualify. Does anyone know the days for the afternoon safari (at the lodge, right?). Are we out of luck on that too?

lebovitz ~ I would think that the CMs in the concierge dept. would help out with your kosher requests. We have two of our family members that are allergic to shellfish and last October when we stayed POLY LVC they went out of their way to warn us of anything in the lounge that may have "hidden" shellfish or flavoring; offered to make all restaraunts we were planning to eat at aware of the allergies and anything else that we wanted/needed because of these allergies. My DH and DS are both allergic and they just avoid shellfish. This actually came up in conversation with a CM and they took it from there. We never asked them for any help because of it.

I was just reading on AllEars.net this morning and had come across this:

"Requests honored through the years by concierge guests at all eight resorts include:

Setting the scene for marriage proposals and special anniversaries.
Searching local grocery and health-food stores for guests' special dietary needs.
Creating complete family vacation itineraries, including VIP and guided tours.
Sewing on buttons. Fresh-squeezing grapefruit juice. Shopping for gifts and souvenirs. Rearranging furniture in rooms and suites.
Securing electronic cables and special batteries for guests' electronic equipment."

Hope this helps!

The Sunrise Safari should be on Sun. and Thurs. morning. That's what it was this Aug.

Thank you, I was aware of your 2nd link, but not of the first one.

Well, I think we'll try the CLV at Poly.

AKL UPDATE: As of October 1, 2005:

Sunrise Safari: Sundays and Thursdays
Cost: $55.99/adult, $27.50/children up to 9

Oh, that's really good news!!! Thank you. Thank you. How about the sunset safari, any news on that?

No need to answer the aforementioned question. I just "talked" with my TA and she gave me some very valuable information I've never read here (not to say it's not here somewhere) and that's that there are only 5 concierge rooms at AKL that are non-Savannah view and that those rooms are pool view and smoking, so they are held for people who request the pool view or smoking or for folk who are upgraded at the front desk. She said that on the very rare occassions when AKL CL rooms - Savannah view - were all booked, then staff would transform a deluxe Savannah view room into concierge to accomadate that guest.

Given that, we just decided to upgrage the whole trip to concierge. I hope this information helps others because I've seen people really sweat this one.

If I was the only one remaining out of the loop on this, I'm glad I'm finally in!

My DW and I are staying AKL CL in Jan. and i was wondering the same thing. I did not want to spend the money for CL and be looking at a pool all day. Thanks for the knowledge. :)

I am sure the answer to this question is somewhere in this thread - but I can not find it. What are the room numbers in the Concierge GF main bldg that face the magic kingdom (for the great view of the fireworks). I had the room numbers - but can not seem to find them
thanks

They are the lower numbers - we were in room 4301 and also have had room 4303. They are at the end of the building facing the marina above Gaspy's. My rooms have been on the third floor, but I am sure the lower numbers would also correlate to the 4th and 5th floor plans. (4401 - 4406, and 4501 - 4506) The view was FABULOUS - directly of the castle and fireworks.

Happy planning -

Is the sunrise/sunset safari ONLY available to AK concierge guests or to ANY concierge guest. I thought I read the later.

Any concierge guest is my understanding.

That would be very easy to do as both the 6th and 5th floors acccomodate CL guests. We've been on the 5th floor halfway down the Kudu Trail which gave us awesome views, but was a hike down the hall, across the bridge and up the elevator to the lounge.

HTH!
